Most of us know what solar panels are. They convert LIGHT from the sun into electricity. Even on cloudy or rainy days, solar panels still produce electricity – because there is still light.

Panels are rated by two things:

  • Power – expressed in watts and usually denoted by the model number.
  • Efficiency – denotes the amount of power produced in a given area. A 250 watt panel with 10% efficiency will require twice the area of a 250 watt panel with 20% efficiency.

With such an overwhelming selection of panels on the market, which one is right for you? That depends on your roof. See some of the different panels on the market today.
